Join us once again…for this year’s UMW Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, November 7th 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM

At Asbury Church the organized unit of United Methodist Women has completed many projects over the years. Some of these projects have raised money to feed the hungry, support scholarship programs for local students, assist the 6th Street Shelter, and provide support for various building needs of our church. Much of the money raised for these important outreach projects is raised with the annual bazaar; an inter-generational project involving the entire church.

Please join us this year for the annual bazaar on Saturday, November 7th from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM. You'll find treasures in our white elephant room, enjoy a sampling of delicious edibles, pre-order your Christmas cookies now, have your picture taken with Santa, let your young ones shop in our “Little People’s Room,” sort through nearly new clothing, be amazed at the creativity of our crafters, try your luck at our silent auction, and stop by our luncheon 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM.  There will also be many activities and games for the kids to do while you shop.

DONATIONS:

USED CLOTHING: 

-Once again the Used Clothing section of the upcoming UMW Bazaar is requesting donation of wire hangers. In addition, the Book Room, Attic Treasures and Used Clothing rooms would appreciate donations of brown grocery bags. A large box has been placed in the lower elevator lobby for the hangars and bags. Please add your donations before Monday, November 2 when our sorting begins.

-Donations will be accepted beginning Sunday, 11/1. Drop-off area is directly behind the Sanctuary. We request that clothing be clean and labeled by size in boxes or bags if possible. The final day for donations is Thursday, 11/5.

SILENT AUCTION:  Please donate an item for the Silent Auction at this year's Holiday Bazaar. Gift baskets, tickets to shows or sporting events, gift certificates, handmade quilts or paintings, vintage jewelry and collectibles, and vaction rentals make great donations. Services such as babysitting, gift wrapping, music lessons and professional services are also appreciated. We also need volunteers to work Friday for set-up and Saturday during the bazaar. BAKE SALE:  Those contributing baked goods for the Bake Sale may drop off their "goodies" on Friday 11/6 4pm-6pm in Room 104. Be sure to label your item(s) with the ingredients. Please contact Jenn Springer with any questions at

ATTIC TREASURES:  Donations will be accepted in Fellowship Hall, starting Sunday, 11/1 after the morning worship services are over. Please make sure all items delivered are in clean, good and resalable shape. We will not be accepting computers, TV's, large exercise equipment or non-working electronics.

JAMS & JELLIES:  Have you been canning this summer and fall? Bring in any homemade fruit preserves or butters, pickles, relishes, or salsas that are overwhelming your shelves to sell at the Bazaar. Please label and leave them in the Aldersgate Room anytime Friday, 11/6 or first thing Saturday morning before the Bazaar starts. Call Kim Campbell with any questions (610-351-7133).


BOOK "WISH LIST":  If you are looking for any particular books or authors, feel free to share your "wish list" the week of November 1-6. If we come upon what you request, we will set it aside for you. No promises -- but we'll keep our eyes open for you. Email Sheri Miltenberger (sherimilt@yahoo.com) with the subject line book wish list or leave a note in the Parlor during the week before the Bazaar to share your requests. Drop off books to sell in the Parlor/Community Room any time the week of the Bazaar.

Many areas could use workers on the day of the Bazaar if you have the time. No experience is necessary!  Work as much or as little as you can.
