Grief and the Holidays
Thursday November 9th and Thursday November 16th
6:30 PM until 8:00 PM in the Aldersgate Room

As the leaves begin to fall and the nights start to grow longer, we are reminded of loved ones we have lost because they are not here with us, especially for the upcoming holidays. As this special time draws near, those anniversaries of a loss can be very difficult and a time of magnified grief.

On November 9 and 16, Asbury’s Thursday Evening Grief Support Group will discuss “Grief and the Holidays” in Asbury's Aldersgate Room from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. For all those who are grieving a loss (death of loved one, divorce, broken relationship, pet loss, betrayal, job loss, illness or other loss), you are invited to attend one or both of these sessions. Our discussion will include: the dread of the approaching holidays and festivities, avoidance of joyous gatherings, staying away from people whose presence remind you of your lost loved one, not attending church services, and not preparing or partaking of seasonal food.

For more information, please contact Bill Arnold, Asbury’s Director of Congregational Care, at   or 610-217-1070 or leave him a message through the church office at 610-398-2577.
