Asbury’s PlayDays was started many years ago as a “Mother’s Day Out” program and an outreach ministry to the community. Through the years it has steadily grown into a weekday program for 1 & 2 year olds. Due to changes in rules and regulations that apply to day care programs as interpreted by Department of Human Services and the courts of Pennsylvania, we have restructured our program as of January 4, 2016 as follows:
PlayDays is now Bright Beginnings: A weekday program for children who are a minimum 2 years, 7 months old
While children attend Bright Beginnings without their parents it is not daycare. Bright Beginnings is a precursor to Preschool where children are introduced to developmentally appropriate skills while learning to socialize with other children in a safe, fun and loving environment. In addition to lots of free play, we make crafts, sing songs, read books, color, put together puzzles, play musical instruments, have snack, play in the gym, and play all sorts of other fun things. At Bright Beginnings, the children learn as they play. Our focus is on independence and social growth. The most important lesson at this young age is to learn how to interact, share, play, and socialize in an environment without their parents.
We have added a NEW Mom & Me Program: A class for children younger than 2 years, 7 months old to attend with one of their parents/caregivers
For children younger than 2 years, 7 months old we now offer a NEW Mom & Me Program. It is an interactive style class that engages parents/caregivers and their kids in a variety of classroom activities. This class offers a wonderful opportunity for bonding and is a great way to prepare your child to be around other kids in a classroom setting. It can help your child get used to being in a structural setting, help them learn how to follow directions, and so much more.
