Dr. Chris Hena to visit Asbury - Sun 11/4/18

Dr. Chris Hena will be visiting Asbury Church on Sunday, November 4, 2018. Dr. Hena is a long-time mission partner of Asbury who is responsible for the Healthy Women, Healthy Liberia Clinic in Kakata, Liberia. Come hear what God is doing through Dr. Hena and her Clinic to improve the lives of our Liberian sisters and brothers. Dr. Hena will be delivering the message at the 8:00 a.m. worship service and all are welcome at 9:30 a.m. in the Pioneer Sunday School Class (in Rm 217) ...

Ramos Playground Opening

The Luis A. Ramos Elementary School playground project began with the Christmas Eve offering at Asbury United Methodist Church in 2014. On September 5th, nearly 3 years later, with support from a number of faith based organizations, civic organizations, foundations, businesses and individuals, the Ramos playground was officially opened with a ribbon-cutting by principal Marybeth Kornfeind-Ralston and PTA president Cathy Martinez. Sunday Summer Drop-In Choir

Do you enjoy singing? Do you like being part of a greater number of singers? Asbury Church we will have a Sunday Summer Drop-In Choir: 7/10, 8/14, and 8/28 for the 10:30 a.m. service.  Rehearsal begins at 9:45 a.m. and ends at 10:15 a.m. in the Choir Room #102. For those who enjoy singing, whether young or old, experienced or no experience, we would love to have you part of the Drop-In Choir this summer. Stamp Ministry Update

The Stamp Ministry collects used postage stamps from all over the world. These stamps are prepared and sold to stamp dealers and every penny earned from these sales is used to prepare and distribute Sunday School materials in South America; at this time Argentina is the recipient. Three large boxes of stamps have been taken to Shell Point Community in Fort Myers, Florida where the final preparation for the sale to the dealers takes place. The display of colorful poinsettias in the Sanctuary and throughout the building during the Christmas season is a tradition here at Asbury. We invite you to be a part of this tradition by making a contribution in honor or memory of a loved one. For more information or to place an order click here.   • Saturday November 7th during the UMW Bazaar in the Aldergate Room.
  • Sunday November 8th Community Room between services.

UMW June Collection

For many years Asbury’s United Methodist Women (UMW) have been collecting items and delivering them to various sites to help those in need. Have you ever noticed the bins and boxes by the downstairs elevator near the UMW bulletin board?  It is a wonderful way to reach out to our neighbors with love and care and help make a difference.
