2020 Ramos Work Day

Since the Allentown School District schools won't be physically open we've delayed our Annual Ramos Work Day until September 26th (with a rain date of October 3rd) from 9:00 AM to noon.  We'll be cleaning up the grounds and remulching the playground.  We will follow the governor's guidelines for masks, distancing and number of people.  If you can help, please add your name to our Google Sheet.

Collection of Items for Ramos Elementary Classrooms

Teachers at our partner school, Ramos Elementary, have requested supplies to help keep their classrooms and students safe this fall.  Please start gathering, Clorox wipes, paper towels, tissues, hand sanitizer, hand soap for classroom use.  We'll have a collection day at Asbury in August to gather these items for delivery to Ramos.  If you have questions, contact Dick McCreight. Saturday Service Opportunity: Shipping of Medical Supplies

A note from Asbury in Missions (AIM) Now that we're in Yellow, we've decided to proceed with the shipping of much needed medical supplies THIS SATURDAY, June 27th to Dr. Chris Hena, our Liberian mission partner. We'll start at 10:00 am at an old school in Lehighton (1122 Fairyland Rd, Lehighton, PA 18235) that Through These Hands is using as a warehouse, to pick up some of the larger and awkwardly shaped items. Disaster Relief for Gilberton, PA Flooding

The following is information shared by the North District about relief efforts for Gilberton, PA, which suffered major flooding 2 weeks ago: Overnight on June 10, torrential rains soaked much of Northeastern PA - but when the pumps failed in Gilberton, the small town suddenly faced a particular disaster far beyond its past history with flooding. AIM Yard Sale Cancelled

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, AIM has decided to cancel the Yard Sale that was scheduled for June. Instead, AIM encourages everyone to save their goods and support the UMW Bazaar in November.

Ramos Christmas: Thank You!!

A note from Dick McCreight on the Christmas gifts for students at Luis Ramos Elementary School in the Allentown School District: Thank you Asbury for adopting Ramos families for Christmas again this year.  We adopted 12 families this time--the most ever.  Gifts were delivered to the school this morning (Monday, December 16) where they were received with great enthusiasm!  We learned that among the 12 families, one had lost everything in a fire, at least one was living in 6th Street Shelt ...

Asbury's Christmas Eve Offering: Liberian Dental Clinic

For the past 7 years, Asbury Church has faithfully donated a portion of our Christmas Eve offering to support a ministry project of one of our Asbury in Mission (AIM) partners. This year, the committee has selected Dr. Chris Hena’s new Dental Clinic at Healthy Women, Healthy Liberia in Kakata, Liberia, to receive 50% of the offering collected at Asbury Church on Christmas Eve.  According to the World Health Organization there are only 23 dentists in Liberia serving a population of 4,000,000+. ...
