WV Work Week Info Meeting - May 29

An info meeting for any interested in learning more about the West Virginia Work Week High School mission trip (students, parents, adult volunteers, curious congregants) will be held Wednesday, May 29, at 7 PM in the Parlor. Grass Cutting Help Needed (Summer 2019)

Help is needed with grass cutting: Volunteers will be scheduled on a rotating basis; days and times are flexible. If you are interested, please email Israel Olivieri, our Business Manager ( ) or call the church office. Israel will then contact you to arrange a time for training.

Viewing of Adam Hamilton's Video in Response to General Conference

In response to the vote at February's special General Conference of the UMC adopting the Traditional Plan, Adam Hamilton, pastor of the largest UMC in America, created a video sharing his ideas to help unify a divided church. Join us as we watch Hamilton’s video on Sunday, June 2, at 10:15 AM in Room 217.

Sarah Circle Meeting - Wed 5/15/19

Sarah Circle will meet at 7:00 PM in room 215 Wednesday, May 15, 2019. We will complete our study of Friendship: Sisters for a Journey by Jessie Seneca. Holly Martin will lead us in discussion of chapters 13-15. As always, all women are cordially invited to join our group.

2019 AIM Yard Sale - Sat 6/15/19

All are invited to our annual AIM (Asbury in Mission) Yard Sale to support Asbury's missions. It will be held at Asbury Church on Saturday, June 15, 2019 from 8am to 1pm in the Wesley Center.   Donated items to be sold will be accepted the week before the Yard Sale. All donations can be dropped off in the enclosed hallway outside the Wesley Center (hall adjacent to gym, with all the windows) starting on Sunday, June 9, after morning church services are over from 12pm ...

Information about the UMC Special General Conference

The Judicial Council, at its April 2019 meeting, reviewed actions taken by the special General Conference in February. The council serves as The United Methodist Church’s supreme court. General Conference, the denomination’s top lawmaking body, passed the Traditional Plan, which enhances current policies about homosexuality and strengthens enforcement, and approved procedures for local churches to disaffiliate from the denomination and retain local church property. The Great American Bake Sale will be held in connection with the Asbury In Mission Yard Sale on Saturday, June 15, 2019 from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the lower level lobby of Asbury Church (just outside the Wesley Center). Proceeds will go to Lehigh Valley Food Council - Summer Meal Program a wonderful local organization to feed underserved children in the community. 2019 Baby Bottle Campaign for Bright Hope of the Lehigh Valley - Begins Sun 5/12/19

Once again on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 12, 2019, boxes of empty baby bottles will be available at the back of the Sanctuary (and the following Sunday, May 19 at the 5pm Open Door Worship Service) that you may take, fill with spare change, and return on Father's Day, Sunday, June 16. All the money goes to Bright Hope of the Lehigh Valley, an agency supported by Asbury In Mission. Bright Hope PSC is an organization that provides pregnancy support and life skills education. Volunteer Schedulers Needed

Volunteers are needed to make schedules for: Lay Readers in Worship, Greeters, and Altar Flowers. (3 separate positions) A schedule of volunteers needs to made once every 3-4 months, and takes about an hour. A small time commitment that is very helpful to the church, plus it's a great way to get to know more people in the congregation! Contact Laurie Wallace Theisen (church office or ) if you can help.

Our Summer Worship schedule begins Sunday, May 26 and goes through Sunday, September 1, 2019.

  • 9:00 AM Contemporary Worship in the Sanctuary (NO 9:00 AM worship on 8/4)
  • 10:30 AM Traditional Worship in the Sanctuary
  • 5:00 PM Open Door Alternative Worship in the Worship Center (NO 5:00 PM worship 5/12, 5/26, 6/16, 7/21, 8/4, or 9/1)
  • 9:00 AM Children, Youth and Adult Sunday School
