Grief and the Holidays & A Quiet Christmas

While this is a joyous time in our faith calendar, we do recognize that for some this can be a very difficult time of year. When most everyone seems obsessed with decorations, lights, special meals, and the holiday spirit, there are those who are lonely, hurting, or grieving. To help, Asbury will be offering several opportunities for support and healing. Jewels of Hope for Christmas

Jewels of Hope, an AIM mission partner,  benefiting the families of the Phayiphini Community in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa will be on sale on December 4, 11, 18 between services in the Community Room.  This mission is discontinuing so shop early for the best selection.

Longaberger Baskets for Christmas

Longaberger baskets, from Dot Torrey's estate, will be on sale in the Community Room on Sunday, December 4th and December 11th in between church services. The proceeds from the sale will go to our local mission partners. If you are looking for a great Christmas gift, please stop by.

"In Loving Memory" Christmas ornaments available

This holiday season, the Parish Nurse Health Ministry will be offering the Christmas ornament "In Loving Memory" for families that have lost a loved one this past year. A table will be set up in the Community Room on December 4th for those interested in a Christmas ornament to honor the memory of a loved one and help celebrate their life on their Christmas tree.

Advent Devotionals

Advent devotionals are available at the lower welcome desk and on tables outside the sanctuary. Pick up your free copy and spend some time each day preparing to celebrate the coming of our Savior!

God's Rainbow Sunday School Class is in need of volunteers

God’s Rainbow, Asbury’s Sunday School class for young adults with developmental disabilities and autism, is in need of a few teachers & helpers on Sunday mornings from 9:30-10:30. Volunteering once a month (starting in January) would be very much appreciated, and training is provided. Contact Karen Mitton ( if you might be able to help.

The 10th well in rural Liberian villages has been completed

We are thrilled to report that under the leadership of James Wymon, District Lay Leader of the United Methodist Church in Lofa County Liberia, the 10th well in rural Liberian villages has been completed.  With a source of clean water, the health and quality of life of our Liberian brothers and sisters is greatly improved.  These wells have been funded by Asbury Church, Methodist churches in Florida and Western Pennsylvania and memorial funds contributed for Paul Wingrove.  Enjoy this video fr ...

We need a lot of volunteer help in order to make Asbury a warm & welcoming place on Christmas Eve! Children's Ministries "Special Gift" Project

Over 2,000 years ago, the world received the most special gift possible through the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. This Advent, Asbury’s Children's Ministries would like to invite you to join us in sharing of the love and joy of the season through our “Special Gift” project. The display of colorful poinsettias in the Sanctuary and throughout the building during the Christmas season is a tradition here at Asbury.
