School Supplies Collection for Ramos Elementary School

While back to school season is still a few weeks away, Asbury’s AIM Committee would like to challenge the congregation to help stuff the display case on the first floor with school supplies for the students at Ramos Elementary School, one of Asbury’s local mission partners. Beginning Sunday, July 24th through Sunday, September 4th, collection bins will be available by the elevators across from the display case on the first floor of the church. Sunday Summer Drop-In Choir

Do you enjoy singing? Do you like being part of a greater number of singers? Asbury Church we will have a Sunday Summer Drop-In Choir: 7/10, 8/14, and 8/28 for the 10:30 a.m. service.  Rehearsal begins at 9:45 a.m. and ends at 10:15 a.m. in the Choir Room #102. 5th Annual CROP Hunger Ride Report

Our 5th Annual CROP Hunger Ride took place Saturday June 4h. It was a beautiful day for a bike ride. We had 50 riders between our three routes of 25 miles, 40 miles and 62.5 miles raising $1,845 Thank you to all of our Asbury and Lehigh Wheelman riders as well as the Asbury planning team.

Everlasting Life Ministries Food Drive – 7/10 thru 7/24

Everlasting Life Ministries (ELM) needs our help to host its “One Food Drive A Year” for their downtown Allentown ministry.  ELM distributes food every Saturday throughout the year to between 80 and 120 families.  They receive no governmental monies or food.  Summer is a very difficult time for families, as school is out, and there are no more school provided breakfasts, lunches or snacks.  ELM's food bank is under more pressure to meet the needs of families. Hospitality Room Donations For Vacation Bible School Week

Donations are requested for the Hospitality Room for Vacation Bible School.  Dates for VBS this year are Monday July 25 through Friday July 29. A poster board for sign-ups has been placed in the Community Room. Suggested donations include baked goods, cheese cubes, bottled water, chips & salsa, fruit and iced tea.  Please stop by and volunteer to help us treat our VBS volunteers to a special break during their busy mornings.

Please join us for a light reception on Sunday, 6/26 after the 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM services in the Community Room and after the 5:00 PM service in the Wesley Center to honor Pastor Glenn Asquith, who is retiring at the end of June after 7 years as our Director of Congregational Care.

West Virginia Work Week Donations

Our high school youth and leaders are preparing for their annual mission trip to Philippi, West Virginia and we are asking for your help: Please consider supporting this important mission trip by donating some needed food items. It is amazing how much food 30-40 hardworking teens and adults can consume. Each individual pays to participate in this trip, but that money needs to cover not just the cost of meals, but also construction materials and supplies. So, we would love to have your help.
