Charge Conference - Tues 10/28

There is a Charge Conference scheduled for Tuesday 10/28 at 7pm here at Asbury in Rm 217. For those who are not familiar with what a Charge Conference is, it is an annual meeting with Dr. Cotto, our District Superintendent, to review and evaluate the total mission and ministry of the church, receive reports, and adopt objectives and goals.

Goal reached for the Ebola Relief Fund

Thank you Asbury! AIM is happy to report that the congregation met our challenge and contributed $2500 for the Ebola Relief Fund. This means that AIM will match that amount and forward a check for $5000 to the agency coordinating the relief. We truly appreciate the caring and generosity of the Asbury family.

Thanks for Giving Food Drive

Save the date: The Thanks for Giving Food Drive to benefit the Allentown Rescue Mission will be held on Sundays November 9, 16 and 23. More information to follow soon.

Join us for Asbury's 5K run/walk and 1 mile Fun Run - Sat 11/22

The first-ever Asbury 5K run/walk and 1 mile Fun Run will take place on Saturday, November 22nd at Asbury Church. The 5K will start at 8:00am and the Fun Run will begin at 8:45am (race packet pick up starts at 6:30am). Proceeds will benefit the Jordan Lutheran Church Food Pantry in Orefield, PA. Usher Service Opportunities

We are in need of two ushers for the 8:00 a.m. second Sunday service for the months of JAN, FEB, MAR. A team usher is also needed for the second Sunday 11:00 a.m. service for the 12 months of the year. Substitute ushers are needed for all three Sanctuary services. Sermon Series Small Group

There will be a small group meeting Wednesdays 7 - 8:30 pm at the church from October 29 through December 3 (not November 26) and it will be led by Carlen Blackstone. This group is for anyone interested in talking about the message given on the previous Sunday in worship during the "Wrestling with the Bible" sermon series. Come prepared to discuss the message from Sunday's worship service. Feel free to come when you can. No homework, no prerequisites, just fun fellowship in our faith journey.

One-on-one prayer training

On Thursday, October 16th, the Prayer Ministry Team will meet in the Aldersgate Room at 7pm to begin training in techniques of one-on-one prayer (for about 40-45 minutes). This training is specifically for those persons wishing to pray with individuals after a worship service or at the time a request is made.

We will then share a time of group prayer for our church and related needs (about 20 minutes). Please join us!
