I wanted to send out an email and first off say thank you for coming out on Saturday! I'm really excited to see people are interested in starting a young adult group at Asbury and beyond (or behind, whichever you prefer, haha! - That was a mis-speak on my part on Saturday in case you missed that joke.)
First off - the next event is 2/19. We'll be meeting for a Bible study/discussion night. Time is still tentative but sometime in the later evening. We can also meet for snacks/dinner/some food. Let me know if you are planning to be at this event and we can go from there with figuring out food and a topic.
The tentative plan is to meet every other Saturday night for a Bible study/discussion. And then once every other month use one of those Saturday night for a "fun outing." Since this past Saturday night I've heard from many of you that you'd like to be involved in small groups if we can work out schedules. (And keep the Saturday nights for more of the "fun events.") I know we tried to schedule small groups on Saturday but were having trouble coordinating. I also felt like maybe I put pressure on people to say yes to a Bible study when maybe they aren't as interested in that/don't have time, which is TOTALLY OK! I didn't mean to do that, I'm new at leading a group like this, so forgive me if you felt I put you on the spot.
So... let's try this again, with some privacy... IF you're interested in a Bible study group, let me know. Also include when you're free for a Bible study AND if there's any other preferences you have about the group (topics/who is involved/etc.)
There is NO pressure to join a Bible study, the ARMADA is meant to be a group for our people our age to join to (re)connect with church and other Christians our age. If you're just looking for some fun "outing" type events, that's great, if you're looking for a Bible study and discussion group that's cool too. If you felt pressured into answering yes to that question on Saturday, again I apologize.
Lastly, let me know if you have any suggestions for our next "outing" (which we have not yet set a date for).
Thank you again for coming out on Saturday, I hope everyone had a great time! I look forward to seeing you all again soon.
