The Worship Ministry area directs the meaning, purpose and practice of worship. Various ministry teams oversee planning the order of worship and recruit lay volunteers to assist in worship.
Worship Team Member assists the Worship Ministry team in planning, coordinating, and evaluating worship services, recruiting and training worship personnel, providing worship education and framing policy recommendations to Program Council and Church Council.

The Sunday Secretary take notes for the pastors at the conclusion of the worship services.
Children’s Time in Worship leaders gather children near the altar and in an informal format provide them (as well as adult worshippers) with ideas and stories to think about.

Ushers seat worshippers, hand out bulletins, help to receive the offering, collect fellowship pad sheets and straighten up the sanctuary following services.

Worship Coordinators act as liaisons between the pastors and the various support activities which are carried out before, during and after each worship service, similar to a “backstage manager.”

Communion Server for Stations assist pastors with serving communion elements.

Communion Stewards prepare the monthly communion table and clean up following the worship service. Different procedures are followed depending on how communion will be served.

Lay Readers read selected scripture for one worship service.

Sound and Light Operators regulate the microphones and lights for worship services and special events.

Wedding Coordinators assist people with wedding plans at Asbury and assist the pastors to ensure a smooth flowing ceremony.
Acolytes participate in the worship service by lighting the altar candles, receiving the offering from the ushers, assist in children’s time and assist in serving communion by keeping chancel rail in proper order. During the school year, youth fill this role. During the summer, all members of the congregation are recruited as acolytes.
Flower Delivery: This ministry delivers altar flowers to hospitalized members or shut-ins following the 10:30 AM worship service.

Multi-media creates and runs the multi-media presentations during the services.
